Rosetta Road House

[ Novak + Middleton Architects ] Horizontal and vertical planes are a key aspect of this modernist beachfront house. The ceiling of the living spaces on the ground floor extends out to cover the deck and raised gardens, then out towards the sea and island views. The ground floor forms an open, adaptable living space for social events. Upstairs, through a double height void, the program becomes private, to retreat into the bedrooms and study spaces. The charcoal-stained cedar cladding creates enclosure and contrasts to the light horizonal roof planes.
